LEGO Sorting Planner

How the planner fills your bins

1. Families first. Every part goes to its family: plates, bricks, tiles, Technic and so on. Each family starts as one bin.
2. Too many families for your bins? The smallest fold into one "Everything else" bin.
3. Bins to spare? The biggest bin gives up its biggest kind of part, again and again. Plates, bricks and tiles also split into 1-wide and wider parts when both halves would be a real share.

Color is never a sort key. Every part's colors are listed in the spreadsheet you can download with your plan.

Before you sort

• Check every bag before you recycle it: small pieces hide in the corners.
• Sort on a tray or a mat with a raised edge, so nothing rolls off the table.
• Give the smallest parts their own small containers inside a bin, or they sink to the bottom of a big one.
