The 7899 Police Boat, released in 2006, represents a solid investment opportunity, particularly for collectors focused on classic LEGO City themes. Its relatively low piece count (200) combined with three minifigures contributes to its appeal. The set's age and retired status have already driven up its price, and this trend is likely to continue. While not as iconic as some larger sets, its complete package of boat, helicopter, and minifigures makes it desirable. However, potential investors should be mindful of storage conditions to prevent yellowing of the white pieces. The rising price trend suggests increasing demand, reinforcing its potential as a worthwhile addition to a LEGO investment portfolio.

The parts selection is fairly basic, consisting mostly of white, blue, and black bricks. The trans-brown panels are useful for windows, and the curved white bricks add some shaping to the boat's design. The set doesn't contain any particularly rare or valuable parts for MOC builders.
