📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Police Station [Lighted Figure] is a nostalgic trip back to classic LEGO Town. Released in 2005, this set captures the essence of early 2000s LEGO design with its straightforward construction and focus on playability. The inclusion of a light-up brick adds a unique touch that many modern sets lack.

This set is perfect for LEGO enthusiasts who appreciate classic town layouts and simpler building experiences. With a manageable piece count and clear instructions, it's a great build for both younger builders and adult collectors looking for a relaxing project. The play features and included minifigures enhance the play value, making it ideal for creating stories and scenarios.

Skip this if you're seeking highly detailed, complex builds or modern building techniques. Contemporary City sets like the Police Station 60316 offer more intricate designs and up-to-date features. Also, those prioritizing a vast array of advanced building parts might find this set's inventory limited.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Police Station [Lighted Figure] (7237-1) presents a decent investment opportunity due to its age, retired status, and increasing price trend. While not the most sought-after set, its classic Town theme resonates with collectors seeking nostalgic value. The inclusion of a light-up figure and a good selection of minifigures also contribute to its appeal. However, its investment potential is somewhat limited by its relatively common parts and the availability of similar police station sets. While appreciation is expected, significant returns are unlikely. The rising price suggests a steady demand, particularly among those who missed it upon initial release. As the set continues to age, its value should gradually increase, especially if kept in excellent condition with the original packaging.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to modern LEGO City police stations, the 7237-1 offers a simpler, more classic building experience. Sets like 60316 Police Station offer more advanced building techniques and a higher level of detail, but 7237-1 appeals to those who prefer a more nostalgic design. The price point of 60316 is lower than 7237 on the secondary market. Collectors who value simplicity and classic LEGO aesthetics may prefer the 7237-1, while those seeking a more modern and detailed set may opt for newer alternatives.
