📝 Our Take

Mini Robots is a delightful tribute to LEGO's rich robotics heritage. Capturing the essence of the complex 51515 Mindstorms set at a micro scale, this promotional gem packs surprising detail and character into a compact footprint.

This set is perfect for tech fans, Mindstorms enthusiasts, and micro-scale collectors. Offering a quick, fun build across 366 pieces, it serves as a wonderful desktop display piece that nods to classic coding and robotics without the hefty price tag of the full-sized set.

Skip this if you are looking for actual programmable robotics functionality. As a static display model, it lacks the motors and hubs of its bigger sibling, so check out modern SPIKE Prime sets if you want real-world coding action.

Retired

As a retired promotional item tied to the now-discontinued Mindstorms theme, Mini Robots (40413-1) occupies a unique niche in the aftermarket. Promotional sets with distinct nostalgic appeal often perform well over time, especially among die-hard LEGO robotics fans who want a complete timeline of the theme. With 366 pieces and a specialized subject matter, its sealed value has steadily climbed since retirement. While it may not match the explosive growth of massive licensed UCS sets, its status as the final nod to the iconic Mindstorms era gives it a safety net for future appreciation. The crossover appeal to both Technic builders and vintage robotics fans ensures a steady, albeit niche, collector base.

Compared to standard GWP (Gift with Purchase) sets that lean heavily on seasonal themes, Mini Robots stands out as a pure celebration of LEGO's technical history. While traditional polybags offer basic builds, this set delivers a surprisingly substantial parts pack and display presence reminiscent of miniature IDEAS or Architecture sets.
