LEGO Technic (originally called "Expert Builder") launched in 1977 as LEGO's
first system for building mechanically complex models. The theme introduced
beams, gears, axles, and pins that enabled working mechanisms impossible
with standard bricks.
Technic has continuously evolved, adding pneumatics in 1984, electric motors,
and most recently the Control+ system for app-controlled models. Today,
Technic represents LEGO's most engineering-focused line, attracting adult
builders who appreciate the mechanical authenticity.
