📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Garbage Truck is a quintessential example of LEGO's classic Juniors design philosophy. Released in 2015, this 99-piece set offered younger builders an accessible, fun-filled way to dive into everyday city life without the complexity of traditional System sets.

This set is perfect for younger kids transitioning to regular LEGO bricks or collectors looking for niche city service vehicles. The build is quick, straightforward, and packed with playful features like a buildable dumpster and street sweeping accessories that instantly spark imaginative roleplay.

Skip this if you are an adult builder searching for intricate techniques or complex display models. With its target age range of 4-7, it's strictly a junior-friendly play set rather than a sophisticated MOC parts pack.

⏳ Retired

As a retired Juniors set from 2015, Garbage Truck occupies a specific nostalgic niche in the secondary market. While its original MSRP was a modest $19.99, it has seen a steady rise in value over the years due to its retired status and scarcity in sealed condition. However, because it contains a relatively low piece count of 99 standard elements, its investment appeal is primarily driven by completionist collectors of old City and Juniors themes rather than part-out value. From a purely financial perspective, sealed copies can command a premium from collectors chasing complete historical lineups of LEGO sanitation vehicles. That said, it faces stiff competition from modern, more detailed City garbage trucks. Investors should view this set as a modest historical curiosity rather than a high-yield asset.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to standard LEGO City garbage trucks like set 60118, the Juniors 10680 model relies on larger, specialized chassis pieces to simplify the building process. While it lacks the intricate mechanisms and piece counts of mainline City sets, it serves its purpose as an entry-level bridge set wonderfully.
