The Garbage Truck is a surprisingly detailed and fun addition to any LEGO City layout. This set captures the essence of a real-world sanitation vehicle with its functional tipping mechanism and realistic design elements. The bright colors and sturdy build make it a great play set as well as a nice display piece.

This set is perfect for younger LEGO enthusiasts and City collectors. The build is straightforward and engaging, offering a good balance of playability and visual appeal. It's a quick and satisfying project that integrates seamlessly into any LEGO town.

Skip this if you're seeking a challenging or complex build. While charming, it lacks advanced building techniques. Consider sets like the LEGO City Recycling Truck (60386-1) for a more modern and intricate sanitation vehicle.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The LEGO City Garbage Truck (60118-1) presents a moderate investment opportunity. As a retired set, its value is gradually increasing, driven by demand from LEGO City collectors and parents seeking nostalgic toys. The set's relatively low piece count and common minifigures limit its potential for exponential growth, but its accessibility and the enduring popularity of the City theme provide a solid foundation for appreciation. However, potential investors should be aware that similar City vehicles are frequently released, which could dilute the demand for this specific model. Keeping the set sealed and in excellent condition is crucial to maximizing its investment potential. Its original low MSRP makes it an attractive option for those looking to diversify their LEGO investment portfolio without a significant initial outlay.
