Size: the decision most people should start with
The two castles are not close in size. Our catalog lists 71043 at about 58 cm high, 69 cm wide and 43 cm deep, which is a table or a deep sideboard rather than a shelf. 76419 is about 21 cm high, 35 cm wide and 25 cm deep, so it sits on a standard bookcase shelf. Around it are Hagrid's hut, the Whomping Willow and five boats. The figures are the draw for collectors: the four Hogwarts founders as minifigures on a display stand, 27 microfigures of students, professors, villains and statues, 5 Dementors, Aragog, the Basilisk and a buildable Hungarian Horntail.

76419 trades interiors for the setting. It builds the Main Tower, Astronomy Tower, Great Hall and Boathouse with the courtyards, greenhouses, bridges, the rocky landscape and the Black Lake, and it opens up four recognisable rooms: the Chamber of Secrets, the Winged Key room, the Potions Classroom and the Chessboard Chamber. Small builds of the Durmstrang Ship, the Beauxbatons Carriage and the Ford Anglia in the Whomping Willow fill in the scene, and a gold Hogwarts architect statue minifigure stands by the nameplate.
Age mark

If 76419 is the castle you want, buy it this year; if you want 71043, you can wait for a better moment, as long as you accept that dates like these move.
Which should you buy?
- Buy 71043 if you want the most complete LEGO Hogwarts, the founders minifigures matter to you, and you have a table or deep shelf for a model of its size.
- Buy 76419 if you want one Hogwarts on one bookshelf, you are buying for an adult fan, or the price of 71043 is more than the display is worth to you. Buy it before the end of 2026.
