As a promotional set from 1998, the Competition Racers with Stopwatch has potential as a collector's item. Its low piece count means it's not a parts pack, but its rarity and the unique stopwatch element could drive value for collectors interested in vintage LEGO promotions. Demand for these sets can be unpredictable, so research is key before investing. While not a high-value investment, it could appreciate modestly over time, especially if kept in good condition.

Compared to other LEGO racing sets, the Competition Racers with Stopwatch is more of a novelty item than a full-fledged racer. For a more engaging building and play experience, consider larger LEGO Speed Champions sets. However, for collectors interested in unique promotional items, this set offers a distinct appeal.
