A LEGO fan convention is a weekend where adult builders bring their own creations, often for a public exhibition and a convention for registered fans at the same time. The biggest in North America are BrickFair, Brickworld and BrickCon, and the dates below are the ones each organiser lists on its own site as of October 2026. Check the official site before you book travel, because venues and dates do change.

Public days and fan days
Most fan conventions have two sides. The public exhibition is the part most people mean by a LEGO show: rows of tables with fan-built cities, trains, castles, spaceships and mosaics, open to anyone with a ticket. The convention side is for registered adult fans and usually runs before or alongside the public hours, with talks, workshops, building games and time to set up the displays. BrickCon, for example, keeps separate pages for its fan convention and its public expo. If you only want to look, a public ticket is all you need; if you want to exhibit or join the fan programme, register on the event's site.
BrickFair
BrickFair runs several events a year in different US cities rather than one fixed show. Its site currently lists:

The site does not name the venues on its event list, so check each event's page for the location and tickets.
Brickworld Chicago
Brickworld lists Brickworld Chicago for June 19 and 20, 2027 in the Schaumburg area outside Chicago, with general admission tickets sold online and at the door. The event also runs a brick film festival.
BrickCon
BrickCon lists September 11 and 12, 2027 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington, and describes itself as the longest running LEGO fan exhibition in the world. Its site has separate sections for the adult fan convention and the public exhibition.
Outside North America

Skaerbaek Fan Weekend, Denmark: September 25 and 26, 2027. The event is always held on the last complete weekend of September, and everyone taking part as a fan registers through its member centre.

Brickvention, Melbourne: Australia's large fan event. Its site thanks visitors for the 2026 event but has not posted 2027 dates yet, so check back there.
Touring fan expos
Alongside the fan-run conventions, commercial touring expos such as BrickUniverse visit many cities each year with fan displays and vendors. They suit a family day out; check their own schedules for dates near you.
How to find an event near you
The most reliable list is LEGO's own. The LEGO Ambassador Network at lan.lego.com has a community calendar of events run by recognized fan groups, and local LEGO user groups announce public displays at libraries, malls and festivals that never reach the big convention lists. If you want to exhibit
Most fan conventions welcome builders of any level as exhibitors. You register before the event's deadline, describe what you are bringing and how much table space it needs, and arrive for setup before the public opens. Bring your model in sections you can carry, a small bag of spare parts for repairs, and a card with your name and the model's name.
