The Extra Plates Blue set, being a supplementary set from 1986, holds some potential for appreciation due to its age and rarity. Complete sets in good condition are relatively scarce. However, its value is somewhat limited by the fact that it contains only basic plates, which are not highly sought after by collectors compared to unique or printed elements. Investment potential depends on the set's condition and completeness.
