📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Ninja Tuner Car (71710) is a brilliantly vibrant fusion of cyberpunk aesthetics and high-speed ninja action. Drawing heavily from the Prime Empire video game arc of 2020, this set captures the essence of custom arcade racers with its striking black, dark bluish gray, and trans-neon green color palette.

This set is perfect for younger NINJAGO fans and vehicle enthusiasts who love dynamic play features. The standout gimmick allows the car to seamlessly transform into a flying toy, offering great play value and a satisfying build that takes just a couple of hours.

Skip this if you are looking for a static display piece or a traditional ninja temple build. The styling leans heavily into modern sci-fi and arcade tropes, which might not appeal to purists who prefer classic, feudal-style Japanese ninja settings.

⏳ Retired

As a retired set from the popular Prime Empire subtheme of 2020, the Ninja Tuner Car holds moderate appeal for secondary market investors. Cyberpunk-style NINJAGO vehicles often maintain steady niche demand, especially those featuring unique color schemes like trans-neon green combined with dark bluish gray and black. While it may not command the explosive appreciation of major modular buildings or iconic UCS Star Wars sets, sealed copies steadily outpace their original $39.99 MSRP among completionist NINJAGO collectors. From a parts-out perspective, the set offers solid value due to its inclusion of various Technic rotation joints, rotation ball halves, and specialized slopes. However, because it targets a younger demographic and was widely available during its retail run, explosive growth is unlikely. Expect stable, incremental gains rather than a goldmine investment.

Compared to other 2020 Prime Empire sets like Lloyd's Jungle Raider (71700) or Kai's Mech Rider (71783 successor equivalents), the Ninja Tuner Car stands out for its unique flying transformation gimmick. While standard mech and bike sets focus on direct action, this set bridges street racing and aerial combat in a single package.
