Merlin is a delightfully quirky pocket-sized addition to the Shrek universe. Bringing the eccentric magical mentor into brick form at an impulse-buy price point is a win for fans of the franchise.

This set is perfect for Shrek superfans and budget-conscious collectors. With a quick build and an exclusive minifigure, it's an easy grab that won't break the bank or take up valuable shelf space.

⏳ Current release

As a low-priced licensed minifigure pack from the Shrek theme, set 71053-7 holds unique appeal for secondary market collectors. While the piece count is exceptionally low at just 8 elements, sets featuring specific licensed characters often see steady demand once they retire, especially among completionists looking to grab every character from the theme without buying larger, more expensive sets. That said, the investment potential relies heavily on the overall popularity and longevity of the Shrek LEGO line. Because the initial MSRP is only $4.99, the barrier to entry for speculators is practically zero, making it an easy set to stockpile a few copies of just in case. However, don't expect massive percentage returns immediately, as supply of impulse-buy blind bags or small boxes tends to be quite high early on.
