Merlin

Merlin is an absolute must-have for fantasy and mythology enthusiasts looking to add some legendary magic to their collection. This stunning figure stands out thanks to an incredible level of detail, featuring a dark blue drooping hat cone trimmed in gold with intricate rune prints, and a distinguished face complete with white eyebrows, a full flowing beard, and charming black round glasses that give him a scholarly yet mystical vibe.

Collectors will particularly appreciate the elaborate print work spanning the entire figure. The torso and legs are loaded with sand blue decorations, mysterious runes, gold arm bands, and gorgeous boot and sandal details over light nougat knees. Because this figure is currently tied to a brand new release, securing one in pristine condition straight from the box will be the priority for serious display collectors.

As a brand new figure debuting in 2026 within set 71053-7, Merlin currently enjoys limited distribution as he appears in just a single set. While the aftermarket is still adjusting to his initial release, single-set exclusives always command a certain level of attention from completionists and castle/fantasy fans.

With production just getting underway, availability on secondary markets will fluctuate as the set cycles through retail. However, specialized wizard and sorcerer figures traditionally hold their appeal well, and historical market data for magical characters suggests that supply will tighten significantly once the parent set eventually retires.

Merlin's investment potential is looking quite promising given the perennial popularity of fantasy, castle, and magic-themed builds among the adult collector community. Minifigures featuring unique facial expressions like round glasses combined with heavy rune printing tend to outperform generic figures over the long term.

While current market data is still catching up to his debut, figures of legendary historical and mythological figures usually see steady, reliable growth once their retirement window closes. Compared to standard castle citizens, named magical icons like Merlin usually capture a broader collector base, making this a solid addition to any growth-focused portfolio.
