⏳ Retired

The Shell Tanker (6695-1) is a holy grail of sorts for vintage LEGO Town and promotional set collectors. Having been retired for decades, its secondary market value has climbed dramatically to over $600, driven heavily by nostalgia, the iconic branding, and the difficulty of finding complete vintage sets in pristine condition with undamaged stickers or prints. While the current market price represents a massive multiple of its original $10.25 MSRP, future appreciation will largely depend on high-end vintage collectors seeking mint-condition nostalgic pieces. It carries high price volatility due to its niche appeal, but truly sealed or complete-in-box specimens will always command a premium among hardcore Classic Town enthusiasts.

Compared to modern City service vehicles, the Shell Tanker is much smaller and relies on basic system bricks rather than large specialized molded chassis pieces. It serves as a direct contemporary to other classic promotional sets like the 6692 Ambulance or 6693 Refuse Collection truck, making it an essential piece for completing a retro 1980s Town layout.
