📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Tubes is a fantastically fun Duplo set designed to spark creativity and exploration in young builders. This set provides a hands-on learning experience, encouraging children to experiment with cause and effect as they build and modify their own ball run systems. The vibrant colors and chunky Duplo bricks are perfect for small hands, making it an engaging and educational toy.

This set is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers aged 2-5. It offers a blend of open-ended play and structured building, allowing children to develop problem-solving skills and spatial reasoning while having fun. The large, durable Duplo bricks are safe and easy for young children to handle, ensuring hours of creative play.

Skip this if your child has outgrown Duplo or prefers more complex building systems. While this set is excellent for early childhood development, older children may find it too simplistic. Consider LEGO Classic sets for a broader range of building possibilities, or LEGO Juniors sets for a step up in complexity.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Tubes set, being a Duplo set aimed at very young children, typically doesn't see the same investment potential as more complex LEGO sets. However, its retirement and increasing price suggest some demand in the secondary market, possibly driven by educational institutions or parents seeking specific developmental toys. Given its relatively high original MSRP and the current price trend, it might hold some value, but significant appreciation is unlikely compared to licensed or collector-focused LEGO sets. The limited availability of educational Duplo sets could sustain its value over time.

Compared to other Duplo sets, Tubes offers a unique focus on physics and engineering concepts, making it more educational than standard brick-building sets. While sets like the Duplo Creative Suitcase (10913-1) offer a broader range of basic bricks, Tubes provides a more specialized and interactive play experience. It's a good choice for parents prioritizing STEM learning in early childhood.
