📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Brick Box is an absolute essential for introducing toddlers to the world of construction and hands-on creativity. Packed with colorful shapes, numbered elements, and friendly DUPLO figures, this starter set is specifically designed to inspire young builders and stimulate growing imaginations.

This set is perfect for parents, grandparents, and caregivers looking for an educational developmental toy for children aged 1 and up. The chunky bricks are perfectly sized for small hands, encouraging fine motor skills, color recognition, and early counting through intuitive play.

Skip this if you are shopping for older kids who have moved past DUPLO systems. At 65 pieces, older builders will breeze through this in minutes, so look toward standard LEGO City or Creator sets instead.

⏳ Current release

As a DUPLO starter set aimed at toddlers, Brick Box (10913-1) is designed for heavy play rather than collector investment. DUPLO sets generally do not appreciate in value on the secondary market the way licensed themes like Star Wars or modular buildings do, because the target demographic puts heavy wear and tear on the pieces. However, basic DUPLO boxes maintain steady, year-round demand as parents constantly look for entry-level toys for young children. While you won't see dramatic appreciation after retirement, it is a staple product that retains its utility. If you are buying this set, buy it to be played with and enjoyed by little ones rather than as a financial portfolio piece.

Compared to themed DUPLO sets like farm animals or rescue vehicles, the 10913 Brick Box offers a pure, open-ended sandbox building experience with a great variety of basic shapes, numbers, and a car chassis. It serves as an ideal foundational set before expanding into larger DUPLO ecosystems.
