📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Cement Mixer is a surprisingly engaging Technic set. While it may seem like a simple construction vehicle, the realistic functionality and attention to detail make it a worthwhile build.

This set is perfect for Technic beginners and vehicle enthusiasts. The build is challenging enough to be interesting but not overly complex, making it a great introduction to Technic mechanisms.

Skip this if you're looking for a large, complex Technic model. For a more advanced build with more functions, consider a set like the Mobile Crane or a licensed vehicle model.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Cement Mixer (42112-1) offers moderate investment potential. As a retired Technic set, it benefits from the theme's consistent popularity and the appeal of construction vehicles. Its piece count and unique cement mixer function contribute to its desirability among collectors. However, its relatively recent retirement and the availability of similar Technic sets may limit its appreciation in the short term. Long-term, well-preserved copies could see steady growth, particularly if demand for Technic construction vehicles remains strong. Monitor aftermarket prices and demand to gauge its true investment potential.

Compared to other Technic sets in its price range, the Cement Mixer offers a unique construction vehicle experience. While sets like the Race Truck or Getaway Truck offer alternative play features, the Cement Mixer stands out with its realistic cement mixing drum and detailed design. It's a good choice for builders who prefer construction vehicles over racing cars or other vehicle types.
