📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Construction Crew is a great introduction to the Technic theme. Featuring three distinct construction vehicles, it provides a well-rounded building experience for those new to Technic building.

This set is perfect for children and teens interested in learning about simple mechanics and engineering principles. The models offer good play value, and the alternate build possibilities extend the fun beyond the initial builds.

Skip this if you are an experienced Technic builder looking for a challenging or complex build. More advanced Technic sets like the Mobile Crane MK II (42009) offer a greater level of detail and functionality.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Construction Crew set (42023-1) presents a moderate investment opportunity. As a retired Technic set, it benefits from the theme's popularity and the set's reasonable piece count for its original price. The stable price trend suggests consistent demand. However, its relatively low original MSRP and lack of exclusive parts or minifigures limit its potential for dramatic appreciation. It's a decent set for long-term holding, but expect gradual rather than rapid growth.
