The Collector is a unique and rare promotional set. Released as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, its limited availability instantly made it a sought-after item for collectors.

This set is perfect for Guardians of the Galaxy enthusiasts and minifigure collectors. The set offers a simple build focused on the exclusive Collector minifigure, making it a great addition to any Marvel collection.

Skip this if you're looking for a complex building experience or a large set. With only 8 pieces, the build is minimal; consider larger Guardians of the Galaxy sets for a more involved building experience.

B+

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

As a Comic-Con exclusive with a low piece count, the value of this set is almost entirely tied to the exclusivity of the minifigure. Its initial cost was low, but the secondary market value has increased due to rarity. While the Guardians of the Galaxy theme remains popular, the long-term investment potential depends on the continued demand for rare minifigures and the set's condition. The set is unlikely to skyrocket in value, but it should maintain a steady appreciation due to its limited release.

Compared to other Guardians of the Galaxy sets, The Collector (COMCON035-1) offers a unique value proposition due to its exclusivity. While larger sets like the Milano Spaceship Rescue (76021-1) provide a more substantial building experience and play features, The Collector is primarily a collector's item. For those focused on minifigure collecting, this set is a must-have, whereas builders seeking a more involved project should consider other sets in the theme.
