The Supplementary Set 876-1 presents a modest investment opportunity, primarily driven by its age and rarity as a vintage Technic parts pack. Its low piece count and lack of a specific model to build limit its appeal to casual collectors. However, its value lies in its contribution to completing or enhancing other vintage Technic sets, making it desirable to serious collectors and MOC builders seeking specific parts from this era. The rising price trend suggests increasing demand over time, but potential investors should be aware of the niche market and the importance of maintaining the set in good condition with original packaging.

Compared to modern Technic sets, this Supplementary Set offers a limited selection of basic parts. While newer sets provide more advanced building techniques and complex models, this set's value lies in its vintage appeal and the availability of specific parts that may be difficult to find elsewhere. It's a good choice for collectors of vintage Technic or those needing specific parts for older models, but modern Technic parts packs offer a broader range of elements for general building purposes.
