📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Trade Federation MTT is a behemoth of the prequels! Released in 2007, this set perfectly captures the imposing presence of the droid transport vehicle from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. With its impressive size and unique deployment mechanism, it's a standout piece from the early Star Wars LEGO era.

This set is perfect for Star Wars enthusiasts and army builders. The inclusion of 20 battle droids makes it ideal for recreating large-scale scenes from the movie. The building experience is engaging, and the final model is a great display piece for any LEGO Star Wars collection.

Skip this if you're looking for a quick build or have limited display space. This model is large and takes a decent amount of time to assemble. Consider smaller battle packs or vehicle sets if space is a concern.

The Trade Federation MTT (7662-1) presents a compelling investment opportunity due to its age, rarity, and the enduring popularity of the Star Wars theme. With a significant piece count and a generous selection of minifigures, including multiple battle droids, this set appeals to both collectors and army builders. Its retired status and steadily increasing value on the secondary market suggest strong future appreciation. However, potential investors should be mindful of storage requirements and the condition of the set, as these factors can significantly impact its resale value. The rising price trend indicates continued demand, making it a potentially lucrative addition to a LEGO investment portfolio.

While newer sets might offer more refined building techniques, the original MTT has a unique nostalgia factor. Consider the newer MTTs if you want updated building techniques, but this set remains a solid choice for its minifigure selection and classic design.
