📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Lex Luthor Mech Takedown is a fantastic mech-and-hero showdown that delivers serious play value. With a well-articulated mech, an escape pod feature, and Batman's nimble Bat-Glider, this set packs a ton of action into a modest 415 pieces.

This set is perfect for DC Super Heroes fans and kids who love dynamic playsets. The inclusion of five distinct minifigures—including Firestorm and Cheetah—makes it an absolute goldmine for character collectors who missed earlier waves.

Skip this if you are strictly an adult display collector looking for complex building techniques. The build is straightforward and geared much more toward action play than intricate shelf display.

Not enough price history for a trend

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

As a retired Justice League set from 2018, this package benefits immensely from its strong lineup of characters, including harder-to-find variants like Firestorm and Cheetah. Lex Luthor mechs also tend to hold decent nostalgic appeal for DC enthusiasts. However, because its secondary market price trend is currently unknown and it lacks the massive piece counts of high-end collector sets, potential buyers should view it as a fun nostalgic pickup rather than a guaranteed financial asset. While character-driven superhero sets often command steady secondary interest, market volatility and shifting DC movie landscapes mean prices can fluctuate unpredictably. Buyers should be mindful of condition when purchasing secondhand, as complete sets with all five minifigures and the Energy Infusers will always carry a stronger premium than incomplete builds.

Compared to other superhero mech sets of its era, 76097-1 stands out by including multiple heroes and a secondary vehicle (the Bat-Glider) rather than just a single mech. While standard superhero sets often focus on one hero and villain, this feels more like a complete battle scene right out of the box.
