📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

X-Men vs. The Sentinel is a solid, albeit small, entry into the LEGO Super Heroes lineup. Featuring iconic X-Men characters and a menacing Sentinel build, it captures a classic comic book battle scenario. The inclusion of the Blackbird jet adds swooshability and display options.

This set is perfect for X-Men fans and LEGO collectors looking to add key characters to their collection. The build is straightforward and enjoyable, suitable for younger builders while still offering enough detail to satisfy adults. The minifigure selection is a major draw.

Skip this if you're looking for a complex building experience or a massive display piece. The Sentinel is relatively small, and the Blackbird is a simplified design. Consider larger Marvel sets like the Avengers Tower for a more involved build.

⏳ Retired

The X-Men vs. The Sentinel set has decent investment potential due to its popular Marvel license and the inclusion of desirable X-Men characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Magneto. The set is retired, which increases its scarcity and collectibility. While the piece count is relatively low, the minifigures are a significant driver of value. However, the overall size of the set might limit its appreciation compared to larger, more complex Marvel sets. Keep in mind that the value is heavily dependent on the condition of the box and the minifigures.

Compared to other Marvel sets in the same price range, X-Men vs. The Sentinel offers a unique combination of characters and a decent build experience. Sets like the Spider-Man: Doc Ock's Tentacle Trap (6873-1) offer similar play features but lack the X-Men appeal. For those prioritizing a larger build, the Avengers Quinjet Aerial Battle (6869-1) might be a better choice, although it comes at a higher price point.
