Fans appreciate the exclusive minifigures and the classic comic book design, but some find the building itself to be somewhat simplistic and lacking in detail compared to larger, more recent Spider-Man sets.

📝 Our Take

Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown is a great set for Spidey fans. This set captures a classic comic book scene with a fun, interactive build and a selection of desirable minifigures.

This set is perfect for Spider-Man enthusiasts and collectors. The build is straightforward, making it accessible to younger builders while still offering enough detail to appeal to older fans, plus the minifigure selection is excellent.

Skip this if you are looking for a more complex building experience. While enjoyable, the build is relatively simple. Consider the Daily Bugle (76178-1) for a larger, more detailed build and expanded minifigure selection.

The Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown set (76005-1) presents a decent investment opportunity, driven by the enduring popularity of the Spider-Man theme and the inclusion of several desirable minifigures. The set is now retired, contributing to its rising value on the secondary market. The presence of exclusive minifigures like Dr. Doom and Nova adds to its collectibility. However, its relatively small piece count compared to its price might limit its potential for exponential growth. While it's not the most spectacular investment, it should hold its value and appreciate modestly over time, especially if kept in good condition.
