The LEGO Apple is appreciated for its simplicity and nostalgic charm, but criticized for its extremely low piece count and limited building experience. A fun novelty item rather than a serious LEGO set.

📝 Our Take

The Apple (7172-1) is a charmingly simple LEGO creation. Released in 2007 as part of the Make & Create theme, this tiny set captures the essence of an apple with just ten pieces, showcasing how much can be achieved with so little.

This set is perfect for young children or LEGO beginners. It offers a quick and easy building experience, making it a great introduction to the world of LEGO construction and a fun little desk decoration.

Skip this if you're looking for a complex or challenging build. This set is more of a novelty item; consider larger Creator sets for a more involved project.

Investment Grade

Retired

The Apple (7172-1) is a retired set from 2007, making it somewhat of a vintage item. While the piece count is very low, its age and the novelty of the design might make it a curiosity for collectors. Given the low price point and the stable price trend, the investment potential is limited but could see a small increase over a long period, especially if kept in mint condition. The low piece count and simple design mean it's not a high-value investment, but it could be a fun addition to a collection of unique or unusual LEGO sets.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to larger LEGO sets, the Apple is a very simple and inexpensive option. It's more of a novelty item than a serious build. For those looking for more complex fruit-themed builds, custom MOCs or larger Creator sets would be better choices. This set stands out for its sheer simplicity and affordability, making it a unique collectible for LEGO enthusiasts.
