The Ultra Dragon is a Ninjago beast of epic proportions. This set features a four-headed dragon, each representing an elemental power, and includes a diverse cast of minifigures from the Ninjago Legacy series, making it a standout display piece.

This set is perfect for Ninjago fans and dragon enthusiasts. The build is engaging with a good balance of Technic and System bricks, offering a rewarding building experience and an impressive final model.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Ultra Dragon (70679-1) presents a moderate investment opportunity. As a retired Ninjago set with a substantial piece count and a popular dragon theme, it has potential for appreciation. The inclusion of Legacy minifigures adds to its collectibility. However, its initial MSRP was relatively high, which may limit future growth compared to sets with more favorable price-per-piece ratios. The rising current price indicates growing demand.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

The Ultra Dragon stands out from other Ninjago dragon sets due to its four-headed design and diverse minifigure selection. While the Fire Dragon Attack (71753) offers a more traditional dragon build, the Ultra Dragon provides a unique and complex building experience. Collectors might choose this set for its exclusivity and display value, whereas parents may prefer the play features of the cheaper sets.
