📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Patrol Car 4436-1 captures the quintessential early 2010s City police aesthetic with a fun rural twist. Shifting the action away from the standard urban station, this sub-theme brought law enforcement out into the wilderness with forest rangers and rugged vehicles.

This set is perfect for younger builders looking for immediate play value and nostalgic 2010s City collectors. With a quick, straightforward build and two characterful minifigures, it provides an instant chase scenario right out of the box.

Skip this if you are looking for complex building techniques or large-scale display models. At under 100 pieces, it's a micro-build best suited for play rather than sophisticated shelving displays.

⏳ Retired

As a retired 2012 City sub-theme set, Patrol Car 4436-1 has seen a steady, organic rise in secondary market value, currently commanding over double its original MSRP. While small impulse sets rarely yield massive monetary returns compared to massive modulars or UCS sets, niche sub-themes like Forest Police maintain a dedicated nostalgic following among collectors who grew up with this era of LEGO. The set's complete package—featuring the exclusive forest ranger and criminal with a classic prison shirt—gives it better staying power than generic city police cars. Though it won't fund a retirement account, sealed or complete-in-box copies remain solid, low-risk investments for small-scale LEGO speculators.
