📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Cherry Picker is a surprisingly fun little Technic set. Despite its small size, it offers a satisfying building experience and introduces some basic Technic principles in an accessible way. The functional cherry picker arm adds a nice touch of realism.

This set is perfect for younger builders or anyone looking for a quick and engaging build. It's a great introduction to the Technic world and provides a good foundation for more complex models. Its compact size makes it easy to display or incorporate into larger LEGO city layouts.

Skip this if you're an experienced Technic builder seeking a challenging project. The build is relatively simple and straightforward, so you might find it lacking in complexity. Consider larger Technic sets with more advanced features like the Mobile Crane MK II (42009-1) for a more demanding experience.

⏳ Retired

The Cherry Picker set, while small, has shown consistent price appreciation since its retirement. Its low MSRP makes it an accessible entry point for collectors. The rising price trend suggests continued interest, particularly from those seeking complete Technic collections. However, its small size and relatively common parts may limit significant future gains. The key to its investment potential lies in its affordability and ease of storage, making it a low-risk, moderate-reward option.
