Year of the Sheep is a charming and culturally significant LEGO set. Released in 2015 as part of the Chinese Lunar New Year series, this set beautifully captures the essence of the zodiac animal with its clever design and use of LEGO elements.

This set is perfect for collectors of the Lunar New Year series and those seeking a quick, delightful build. The small piece count makes it an accessible project, and the finished model is an attractive display piece that celebrates Chinese culture.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Year of the Sheep set, being a limited-release Chinese New Year set, holds reasonable investment potential. Its relative scarcity due to limited production runs, coupled with the rising popularity of the Lunar New Year theme, suggests a positive trajectory for its value. However, its smaller piece count and simpler build compared to larger sets in the series might limit its appreciation compared to more elaborate sets. As a retired set, it is likely to maintain or slightly increase in value over time, making it a potentially solid, albeit modest, investment.

Compared to larger Chinese New Year sets like the Lion Dance or Spring Lantern Festival, the Year of the Sheep is a smaller, more affordable option. It's a good entry point into the theme, but those seeking a more complex build and elaborate display piece might prefer the larger sets. It offers a unique cultural element not found in standard LEGO City or Creator sets.
