Fans appreciate the set's historical significance and the addition of a rotation sensor, expanding the capabilities of the RCX system. However, some find it overpriced considering its limited piece count and functionality without the base Mindstorms kit.

📝 Our Take

The Ultimate Accessories pack is a fascinating glimpse into early LEGO robotics. Released in 2000 as an expansion for the RCX system, it offered additional sensors and connectivity options, expanding the possibilities of LEGO Mindstorms creations.

This set is perfect for LEGO historians and hardcore Mindstorms enthusiasts. While not a traditional building set, it provides valuable components for expanding existing RCX projects and understanding the evolution of LEGO robotics.

Skip this if you are looking for a standalone building experience. This is an accessory pack designed to enhance the functionality of the RCX system, so without the base kit, it's of limited use. Consider modern Mindstorms sets for a more complete experience.

The Ultimate Accessories pack presents a mixed investment opportunity. Its low piece count and specialized nature might limit broad appeal. However, its rarity as a vintage Mindstorms accessory and the rising interest in classic LEGO robotics could drive up its value among collectors. The increasing price trend suggests growing demand. Keeping the set sealed and in excellent condition is crucial for maximizing potential returns. It is also worth noting that the set's value is highly dependent on the overall interest in the RCX system, which might fluctuate over time.
