📝 Our Take

Gordon's Express is a delightful blast from the past for young Thomas & Friends fans. Featuring the iconic 'Big Engine' himself, this charming DUPLO set lets toddlers recreate their favorite railway adventures from the Island of Sodor.

This set is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who are obsessed with trains. With chunky, durable pieces designed specifically for little hands, it offers safe, imaginative play that introduces early building skills.

Skip this if you are looking for a complex System-scale building experience. As a retired 2007 DUPLO set, adult collectors and older kids won't find much mechanical challenge here, though nostalgic fans of the classic television series might enjoy hunting it down for a display shelf.

As a retired Thomas & Friends DUPLO set from 2007, Gordon's Express occupies a unique nostalgic niche in the secondary market. While DUPLO sets rarely command the astronomical prices of UCS Star Wars or Modular Buildings, licensed items—especially classic Thomas & Friends merchandise—tend to retain a dedicated following among nostalgic millennials and parents looking for durable childhood favorites. With a modest 13-piece count, its investment value is largely driven by nostalgia and character appeal rather than raw part-out value. Complete sets in good condition can find steady interest from collectors looking to complete vintage DUPLO railway layouts or acquire the specific Gordon face and number prints.
