LEGO released its 2026 sets in monthly waves, almost always on the first day of the month, and January 1 was by far the biggest. The year's headline launches were LEGO Pokémon on February 27, LEGO SMART Play with Star Wars on March 1, The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith on June 1 and the Ultimate Collector Series Executor Super Star Destroyer in October. Two big sets are still to come in November. This page records every wave, month by month, with the notable sets from each.
How the 2026 waves were spread
As of October 6, 2026, our catalog has a launch date for 392 of the 836 sets it lists for 2026, so the counts below show the shape of the year rather than every set. They make the pattern clear: one huge wave on January 1, a second on June 1, and smaller waves on the first of most other months. Piece counts and retirement status in the cards come from our catalog when this page loads.

January 2026: the biggest wave of the year
The Old Town 15th AnniversaryOur catalog has 142 sets dated January, 136 of them on January 1. City (19 sets), Friends (17), Ninjago (10), Marvel (10) and Star Wars (9) led the count. Ninjago marked its 15th anniversary with The Old Town, the year's new modular was Shopping Street, and Icons added Stranger Things: The Creel House. Star Wars opened the year with the Venator-Class Attack Cruiser, the BB-8 Astromech Droid and an AT-AT.

February 2026: LEGO Pokémon arrives
Venusaur, Charizard and BlastoiseFebruary was a short month for releases, but it carried the launch of the year: LEGO Pokémon, on February 27, with three display builds aimed at adult fans. March 2026: SMART Play and 20 years of LEGO Batman
Throne Room Duel & A-WingOur catalog has 51 sets dated March, 48 of them on March 1. Two launches stood out. LEGO SMART Play went on sale with LEGO Star Wars: three All-In-One sets that include the SMART Brick, which reacts with lights and sounds as you play, plus compatible sets that add more to the system. Our guide to the SMART Play system explains how it works. And LEGO Batman turned 20, marked with a Batman Logo display set and three Batmobiles from different films. The same wave brought the Technic McLaren MCL39 F1 car, a Claude Monet piece for LEGO Art, the FIFA World Cup Official Trophy and Ninjago's Lloyd's Titan Mech 15th Anniversary.

April 2026: Mario Kart, an airliner and the Razor Crest
Mario Kart – Luigi & Mach 8April had two release days in our catalog, April 1 and April 26. April 1 brought Super Mario's Mario Kart Luigi and Mach 8, the Icons Douglas DC-3 PAN AM Airliner and the LEGO Ideas Tintin Moon Rocket. April 26 was a Star Wars day, led by The Razor Crest and Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice).

May 2026: football, Toy Story and a UCS starfighter
The Mandalorian's N-1 StarfighterMost of May's 21 dated sets arrived on May 1, and eight of them were LEGO Editions sets, most of them football themed. Star Wars added The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter to the Ultimate Collector Series, Disney added Toy Story sets, and Jurassic World followed on May 7 with the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler.

June 2026: the second big wave
The Lord of the Rings: Minas TirithJune 1 was the year's second biggest release day, with 95 of the 98 sets our catalog dates to June. Disney (11 sets), City (9) and Friends (9) led the count, and the month brought several of the year's largest builds: The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith, Disney's Main Street, U.S.A., the Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and the Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle: East Wing.

July 2026: Technic flagships
Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear MegacarJuly was quiet, 11 dated sets, almost all on July 1. Technic carried it with the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear megacar and the Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 F1 car, and Star Wars added the Imperial Lambda-Class Shuttle. Four BrickLink Designer Program sets also launched that day.

August 2026: art, Pokémon and Star Wars
Gustav Klimt – The KissEvery one of August's 30 dated sets in our catalog arrived on August 1. LEGO Art added Gustav Klimt's The Kiss, Pokémon added its second wave with Arcanine, Star Wars added Boba Fett, an Imperial Remnant AT-AT and the Offworld Sandcrawler, and One Piece and LEGO Ideas (The X-Files) joined in. Architecture's Tower Bridge also launched on August 1.

September 2026: Harry Potter, SpongeBob and a Burton Batmobile
The Ministry of Magic – Collectors' EditionSeptember 1 brought The Ministry of Magic, a Harry Potter Collectors' Edition, the Icons SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom and the Mayor Manor, plus the 2026 advent calendars. LEGO Batman's anniversary year continued with the Batman Returns Batmobile, the first LEGO version of the car from that film, which opened to LEGO Insiders on September 1 and to everyone on September 4.

October 2026: the Executor and the holiday sets
Executor Super Star DestroyerOctober's big news was the Ultimate Collector Series Executor Super Star Destroyer, Darth Vader's flagship, which LEGO revealed in August. It, the LEGO Ideas Downton Abbey and the Icons Holiday House all opened to LEGO Insiders on October 1 and to everyone on October 4. October 1 also brought LEGO Ideas Wallace and Gromit, the Pokémon Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball and the season's smaller holiday sets, among them Buddy the Elf, the Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus Minifigure and the Christmas Stocking. Three Avengers: Doomsday sets followed on October 4.

November 2026: Sagrada Família and Dragon Ball
Two big sets are announced for November. The Architecture Sagrada Família (21065) launches on November 1, and it is the largest LEGO set ever made by piece count. The Icons Dragon Ball Shenron and Goku (11390), the first set from LEGO's Dragon Ball partnership, opens to LEGO Insiders on November 1 and to everyone on November 4. December 2026 and what comes next
LEGO has not announced a December wave. The next big release day is January 1, 2027, and LEGO usually reveals much of that wave in November and December. Our LEGO 2027 release calendar tracks what is confirmed.
The end of the year is also when many sets leave LEGO's range. As of October 6, 2026, our catalog lists 301 sets with an expected exit date of December 31, 2026, including the Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon and Rivendell. Our guide to the LEGO sets retiring in 2026 lists them by theme.
