📝 Our Take

The Express Train is a delightful Duplo set from 1991, perfect for introducing toddlers to the world of trains. With its bright colors, chunky bricks, and simple construction, it's designed for little hands and big imaginations.

This set is perfect for parents and grandparents looking to spark a child's interest in trains and building. The large Duplo bricks are easy to handle and safe for young children, making it a great first LEGO experience.

Skip this set if you're looking for a complex or challenging build. This is a very basic set aimed at toddlers, so older children and adult collectors may find it too simplistic. Consider more advanced LEGO train sets for older builders.

The Express Train, being a vintage Duplo set, presents a unique investment opportunity. While the piece count is low and the target audience is very young children, its age and relative scarcity contribute to its rising value. Duplo sets generally don't see the same investment returns as LEGO System sets, but well-preserved, complete sets can still appreciate over time, especially those with unique or rare printed elements. The rising price trend suggests growing interest from collectors, but the potential for significant returns is limited compared to more complex or licensed sets.

Compared to modern Duplo train sets, the Express Train offers a more classic and simple design. Modern sets often include battery-powered engines and more complex track layouts. However, the Express Train's simplicity can be appealing for very young children who are just starting to explore building and imaginative play. Its vintage status also makes it a unique collectible item.
