📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Turtle is a charming and simple introduction to the world of LEGO. This small set, released in 1998, perfectly captures the essence of a turtle with just six Duplo bricks.

This set is perfect for toddlers and young children taking their first steps with LEGO. The large Duplo bricks are easy to handle and assemble, making it a great starter set for developing fine motor skills.

Skip this if you're an adult collector seeking complex builds or intricate details. This set is designed for very young children and lacks the sophistication of modern LEGO sets; consider Creator or Ideas sets for older builders.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

As a very small and basic Duplo set, the Turtle (1800-1) is unlikely to become a significant investment piece. Its low piece count and simple design mean it doesn't have the collector appeal of larger, more complex sets. However, its age and the fact that it is retired may give it some slight collectible value, especially if it is in pristine condition with the original packaging. Price trends do show a slight increase, but this is from a very low base. Investing in this set is more about owning a piece of LEGO history than expecting substantial financial returns. Consider this a novelty item for hardcore Duplo collectors.

The Turtle is a very basic Duplo set designed for the youngest LEGO fans. Compared to more modern Duplo sets with larger piece counts and more complex designs, it offers a simpler building experience. Consider sets like 10934-1 Creative Animals for a more diverse animal-building experience or 10914-1 Creative Box for a wider range of building possibilities. The Turtle is a better choice for those seeking a classic, minimalist Duplo set.
