The Circus set 1672 is a nostalgic masterpiece from the golden era of 1990s DUPLO. Released under the vintage DUPLO Town banner, this charming 18-piece set captures the whimsical magic of a classic big-top show with its bright primary colors, adorable animals, and iconic clown figures.

This set is perfect for vintage LEGO collectors and parents seeking a historical, high-quality toy for toddlers. With its simple assembly, chunky animal figures, and rolling car bases, it offers an immediate, tactile play experience that requires zero instructions but sparks endless imagination.

Skip this if you are looking for a complex build or modern, highly articulated figures. Because this is a DUPLO set aimed at preschoolers, adult builders seeking a display-worthy System model would be better off looking at modern LEGO Creator or City sets.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

From an investment perspective, Circus (1672-1) has performed phenomenally well due to its extreme rarity and nostalgia factor. Finding complete vintage DUPLO sets from 1990 in good condition is incredibly difficult, as most were heavily played with, damaged, or lost. The current market value of over $130 reflects its status as a highly sought-after collector's item rather than a standard toy. However, potential investors should tread carefully. The target market for vintage DUPLO is relatively niche compared to mainstream themes like Star Wars or Castle. While prices are currently rising, liquidity can be low, meaning it may take time to find a buyer willing to pay premium prices for a complete set with its original box and figures.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to modern DUPLO sets, which often feature licensed characters (like Disney or Marvel) and more muted pastel colors, the 1672-1 Circus stands out with its bold, primary color palette and classic, open-ended play. While you can buy a massive modern DUPLO set for a fraction of this set's current secondary market price, collectors choose this specific set for its historical value, nostalgic charm, and rare 1990s animal molds.
