📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

My First Puppy & Kitten With Sounds is an absolute delight for toddlers stepping into the world of LEGO. Combining simple, chunky DUPLO elements with interactive sound bricks, this 2022 set brilliantly bridges tactile building and auditory sensory play.

This set is perfect for toddlers aged 18 months and up who adore animals and hands-on discovery. The chunky pieces are expertly sized for small hands, encouraging fine motor skills, while the rolling ring toy adds an extra layer of active, rolling fun to playtime.

Skip this if you are looking for traditional brick-building or complex modular sets. Because it's designed strictly for the toddler demographic with only 22 large pieces, older kids and adult collectors won't find the construction challenge they crave.

Not enough price history for a trend

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

As a retired DUPLO set featuring interactive sound elements, 10977-1 holds a unique niche in the preschool market. DUPLO sets generally have steady demand from parents seeking durable, educational toys rather than traditional speculators, but sound-brick sets often retain slightly better secondary market interest among families. While it is unlikely to become a high-flying investment piece like a UCS Star Wars set, complete copies in good condition with working sound bricks should hold their original value well over time. The inclusion of specialized printed bricks and animal features adds just enough nostalgic appeal to keep parents searching for it on the secondhand market.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to standard DUPLO animal trains or farm sets, this playset focuses intensely on sensory feedback through its sound bricks and rolling elements. It offers a more interactive, focused play experience for very young children than general multi-model DUPLO boxes.
