Was offered $80 for whole box. Is it a good deal?

A LEGO community member recently reached out for advice regarding a secondhand buying offer after a buyer offered $80 to $90 for an entire lot of four used LEGO sets. The seller is currently liquidating older models to free up space and generate funds for new building projects, raising the question of whether this offer represents a fair market value.

The lot in question includes four complete sets with all of their original pieces and minifigures: Architecture Big Ben set 21013, Star Wars Ambush on Ferrix set 75338, Star Wars Hoth AT-ST set 75322, and Star Wars Millennium Falcon set 75257. According to the seller's independent research, three of these individual sets typically command around $45 each on the aftermarket, while set 75257 alone holds a value of at least $100.

While the seller acknowledges that resale businesses must offer lower prices to ensure a profit margin, the combined $80 to $90 bid falls significantly short of the collection's estimated individual worth. Experienced sellers often find that parting out collections or selling directly to individual collectors yields a much higher return than selling whole lots to bulk buyers.
