Set 42181 landing gear design issues

I just finished building this set and am having an issue where the landing gear collides with the panels when I try to deploy it preventing it from being fully extended. (Pictures 1&2) I’ve checked the instructions multiple times and can’t seem to find anything I built wrong. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix it without compromising the build?
