BlockTalk BlockTalk Summary

The LEGO creation of Predator is a work in progress, with the builder sharing updates on its development. The model is proving to be a complex build, with several key features already functional.

The lift system, top rotation, and horizontal rotation are all operational. The builder faced challenges in incorporating these features into a compact space while ensuring smooth rotation and handling the weight and stress. The next steps involve constructing the bottom structure, which will support the entire model's weight on the rotating platform. The builder also plans to add a bottom turntable with two throughputs and a transfer ring.

The builder is currently waiting for additional parts to continue the project. The challenges of integrating all the systems are also noted.

For anyone inspired to build their own complex LEGO creations, you might find a brick separator helpful for taking apart and rebuilding your models.

So, it’s a little bit bigger than planned... The lift system is working as is the top rotation and the horizontal rotation. It was quite difficult getting two independent rotations and the lift system in that narrow space whilst still rotating smooth, dealing with the lateral stress and the weight. Now it’s time to implement the bottom structure which is prone to sagging as it holds the weight of the entire structure on the rotating platform. Then the bottom turntable with two throughputs...
