I converted my LEGO Technic Control Center from the original battery setup (6×1.5V) to USB‑C power. Inside, I installed a small USB‑C Power Delivery trigger/decoy board configured for 9V. Important: this only works with a USB‑C charger or power bank that supports Power Delivery— a simple 5V USB supply won’t output 9V automatically because the voltage has to be negotiated via USB‑PD.
