LEGO Super Mario: Minifigure Scale Sets revealed for 2027.
The LEGO Group has officially announced a massive shift for the LEGO Super Mario theme, dropping the electronic, game-focused digital figures in favor of long-awaited minifigure-scale sets. Revealed at Gamescom in Cologne, this brand-new lineup pivots toward traditional creative roleplay and traditional building.
The upcoming wave launches on January 1, 2027, and includes an initial collection of sets featuring iconic characters, locations, and karts. The sets range widely in size and price to accommodate all builders, starting with set 72052 Mario's Pipe Jump (64 pieces) for $9.99, set 72054 Racing with Mario (84 pieces) for $14.99, and set 72055 Mario's Beach Adventures (196 pieces) for $20.00. Other offerings include set 72056 Luigi & Bowser Jr.'s Race (104 pieces) priced at $30.00, set 72057 Yoshi at Mario's House (147 pieces) for $40.00, set 72058 Bowser's Rumbling Race (409 pieces) for $60.00, set 72061 Fire Luigi vs Koopa Troopa Battle (30 pieces) for $30.00, and the largest set of the wave, set 72060 Fire Mario & Bowser's Castle, coming in at $100.00.
For the past six years, the theme has relied heavily on the interactive, blocky digital Mario figure equipped with scannable barcodes, speakers, and chest screens. While those play-oriented sets brought plenty of interactive entertainment, a passionate segment of the fan base has continually clamored for standard minifigures since the theme's inception. This refresh bridges that gap by introducing custom character molds, recognizable environments like Warp Pipes and Bowser’s Castle, and classic brick-built vehicle action.
As anticipation builds for this exciting shift in the Super Mario lineup, fans planning to display or organize their incoming collection may want to check out a LEGO storage box or a protective LEGO display case.
What a crazy world we live in where we are starting to see 2027 releases revealed in August. For the past 6 years, LEGO Supermario has been focussed on the playable game, with the interactive Brick Character, and buildable friends and enemies with scannable barcodes. Thrdr have been great fun to play with, but many […]
