Learning Engineering - Considering LEGO as a tool for that - Questions on a book

Ahoy, Technicals! Per the title, I'm working on becoming an engineer, and while I'm not taking classes I want to acquaint myself with relevant concepts so I can know more and be more ready for when it comes up.
