Inverted back wheels F1

I recently got the #42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance and I got halfway through bag 5 when I realized if I spun the left back wheel forward, the right back wheel moves backward. Is there an issue with how I built it or is this the way the wheels are intended to move? Any help would be greatly appreciated! update- I had a piece turned upside down so the pistons wouldn’t move right. I had to take apart a lot of it to fix it, but everything is working smoothly now thanks for the help! ...
