Help for buying a lego technic as a gift

I want to get a set for my bf but not 100% on which, he has brought up how he really wants a technic set , i remember him saying Bugatti , Lamborghini , Ferrari i think he has said something about a McLaren but i dont really remember, im pretty sure he wants the Bugatti the most but i cant find it in stock anywhere , im not too sure if i should buy off of ebay as i want it to be brand new which set is considered the best one? and if anyone knows where to get a brand new bugatti set £300-400...
