Does it work as it should? (CaDA AMG GT3)

I'm building the C64008W and I'm not sure if the gearbox is assembled correctly, so I slapped on two wheels for a test. I can shift gears (in video 1, N and then R) but I don't feel any change when moving back and forth. Is this how this model is supposed to work at this step? How can I check?
