can i make a diy suspension for this technic set with pen springs?

i bought my first technic set yesterday (42225) i really like the crankshaft and chain details but i wonder if i can make a mock suspension on the front with pen springs probably my plan is gonna go like: do a cad of the gray linkage shafts, reduce their height and print them cut 2 pen springs of a suitable diameter at the same height reduced from the shafts place the cut springs to the cylindrical joint between the black and gray sleeves have anyone done this before? whatre ur experiences? ...
