Q: Is the Fliprus minifigure rare or valuable?

Investment grade: B. Fliprus is highly exclusive, appearing in only a single LEGO Super Mario expansion set: the Fliprus Snow Adventure (Set 71417) released in 2023. Because it is a brick-built figure comprised of 93 pieces rather than a single molded minifigure, finding a complete, unassembled or assembled Fliprus on the secondary market can be more challenging than standard figures. Its limited production run and status as a set-exclusive enemy make it a key target for Super Mario completionists who want to collect every unique brick-built baddie from the franchise.

Collectibility Notes

Fliprus is a highly distinct, brick-built figure from the LEGO Super Mario theme. Representing the iconic walrus-like enemy from the video games, this figure stands out immediately due to its vibrant Bright Pink color scheme and substantial 93-piece count. Unlike standard minifigures, Fliprus is a fully articulated, brick-built character that offers a fun building experience in addition to its display value.

Collectors of the LEGO Super Mario line highly prize unique enemy characters like Fliprus to populate their custom course layouts. Because it is constructed from several specialized curved slopes and plates in Bright Pink, it is also a fantastic source of rare-colored parts for MOC (My Own Creation) builders. Its expressive face and interactive play features when paired with the digital Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures add to its overall charm.

Rarity Analysis

Fliprus is highly exclusive, appearing in only a single LEGO Super Mario expansion set: the Fliprus Snow Adventure (Set 71417) released in 2023. Because it is a brick-built figure comprised of 93 pieces rather than a single molded minifigure, finding a complete, unassembled or assembled Fliprus on the secondary market can be more challenging than standard figures. Investment Analysis

As a set-exclusive character from a licensed Nintendo theme, Fliprus has solid long-term investment potential. While LEGO Super Mario brick-built figures generally do not appreciate at the same astronomical rates as traditional licensed minifigures (like Star Wars or Marvel), unique, large-scale enemies historically hold their value well once their parent sets retire. The high part count (93 pieces) and the abundance of rare Bright Pink elements provide a strong price floor, ensuring that even if demand for the character itself fluctuates, the parts value remains high for custom builders.
