📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Star Wars Magnet Set 853126-1 is a nostalgic blast from the 2011 era of LEGO collecting. Featuring a trio of classic characters permanently affixed to their 2x4 display magnets, this set captures a very specific moment in LEGO Star Wars history when refrigeration surfaces became fair game for the Empire and the Rebellion.

This set is perfect for desk decorators and vintage Star Wars completionists. While the 18-piece count offers virtually no traditional building experience, having Ben Kenobi, an AT-AT Driver, and a TIE Fighter Pilot ready to hold up your grocery lists is undeniably charming for casual displays.

Skip this if you want detachable minifigures or traditional building parts. Because the figures are famously glued to their magnetic bricks in this era, MOC builders and minifigure purists should look elsewhere to avoid modification struggles.

As a retired 2011 magnet set, this piece occupies a nostalgic niche in the secondary market. The glued minifigure controversy of this era actually makes complete sets in packaging somewhat scarce, as many kids broke them apart or lost them over the years. While the piece count is microscopic at just 18 elements, the inclusion of classic characters like Ben Kenobi and the AT-AT Driver provides a steady baseline of collector interest. Investors should note that condition is everything here, particularly the state of the packaging and the integrity of the magnets themselves. Overall, it grades out as a solid novelty piece rather than a heavyweight financial asset.

Compared to standard battle packs or blind bags from the same era, this magnet set traded building functionality for pure display novelty. While battle packs gave you fully playable figures and vehicles, this set was strictly designed for refrigerator real estate, making it a unique cousin to traditional LEGO Star Wars releases.
