Fans appreciate the classic Pirates theme and the inclusion of three minifigures, but some find the set overpriced for its small size and limited building experience. The magnets are a fun feature, but the overall value is debated.

📝 Our Take

The Pirates Magnet Set is a charming little LEGO trinket. Released in 2009, it offers a fun snapshot of the classic Pirates theme in a compact, magnetic form.

This set is perfect for LEGO Pirates enthusiasts and minifigure collectors. The set provides three minifigures, including a pirate captain, soldier, and parrot.

Skip this set if you're looking for a challenging build experience. As a magnet set with only 22 pieces, the build process is minimal. Consider larger Pirate-themed sets for a more involved project.

Investment Grade

Retired

The Pirates Magnet Set, while small, offers some investment potential due to its retired status and the enduring popularity of the Pirates theme. The inclusion of three minifigures, including a classic Imperial Soldier, adds to its collectibility. However, its small size and piece count limit its potential for significant appreciation. The rising price trend suggests some demand, but it's unlikely to become a highly valuable set.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to larger Pirate-themed sets, the Magnet Set offers a more affordable and compact way to own some classic minifigures. While sets like 6242-1 Soldiers' Fort offer a more substantial build and play experience, the Magnet Set provides a quick and easy display piece. It's a good option for those primarily interested in minifigure collecting or adding a small touch of LEGO to their surroundings.
